Group 7: Proposal of Action for Poverty Driven Conflict that affects Women in Nepal:

Lack of Access to Adequate Nutrition and Healthcare.

Nepal has a high percentage of women whose status is worsened by poverty-driven conflict in which nutritional and health care needs are lacking. In addition to poor nutrition, there is the problem of inadequate healthcare services that complicate the issues facing these women even further. In the Bank's recent report (2022), poverty was a vital contributor to the inability of women to obtain essential services in Nepal, which placed them in highly compromised positions.

From the perspective of fighting this existing problem, it is important to have a strategic plan to improve the healthcare and nutrition. Most recent research from the International Food Policy Research Institute (2021) indicated that efficient steps could include developing neighborhood nutrition support programs. Also, partnerships with local healthcare providers and government agencies can be helpful to women in fighting malnutrition and making them secure in receiving the required support and accessing healthcare services.

The partnership between the significant agents of change, such as government officials, international donors, and NGOs, should be sought so that they can find sustainable measures to combat the root of poverty-related conflicts in Nepal. Through cooperation, these groups can develop a comprehensive approach that identifies the roots of malnutrition in women and the early initiation of healthcare during pregnancies—targeting these 3 mirrors United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals areas, 1 (No Poverty), 2 (Zero Hunger), and 3 (Good Health and We-being). This intervention harbors the potential of not only transforming but also bettering the lives of all women who are victims of the conflict in Nepal.

For this presentation we will be working together on facetime , twice a week.

Shristi and Anya will be doing the research and writing and Yuki will be responsible for designing of the presentation. For the final presentaion we will all be taking turns speaking.
